Filmstrip and Nokia, by FOA
The design for the BBC Music Center by Foreign Office Architects uses the iconography of a folded filmstrip (BBC > Television > Film-band). The folded plane keeps one side of the 2 concerthalls open, transparant. Three layers of glass are put in place to keep noise outside. The side facades can be used to project images of what is happening inside or elsewhere, and so almost literally becomes a filmstrip.
A secondary (accidental?) reference is made to the Nokia fashion-line which features similar forms.
